History of Ayurveda

The concept of Ayurveda takes us to a long time back around 5000 years ago in its inception. The name Ayurveda means the science of the life. It was mainly used in the Vedic era, where natural ingredients like plants having medicinal value are used for the cure of different diseases. Tri- Doshas or the patterns

It recognizes there of the main problem which coordinates the diseases or the alteration in our normal body composure. They are ‘Pitta’ which means fire, ‘Vata’ which is wind and ‘Kapha’ which means earth. According to Ayurveda, these are the three criteria which govern the energy cycle of life. Each of them has separate functions to play in the body. Thus Ayurveda is not only a system of treatment only it is the philosophy that helps to go through in life with a healthy mind as well as a healthy body.

Present uses

Although it has a rich history the use of this excellent science suffered a pause in the present time. Although the situation is changing now and in this world, non-conventional treatment methods are very much opted by the doctors for curing a specific disease. Thus Ayurveda again has regained its value in the medical research field and therapeutics. A good amount of the students nowadays are involved in the research with Ayurvedic methods and medicines. And they have also compiled many excellent supplements for specific diseases. Along with the cure of the disease it is seen to cure other problems like the stress and the anxiety blood pressure, inflammatory responses, cholesterol and also maintains hormonal balance in the body.

There are many Ayurvedic hospitals in Mumbai which is also attached with the research wing so that researchers can get to see the condition of the patient very closely, which will definitely help them for further invention and innovations. Apart from Mumbai, many other states have this kind of hospitals. People are regaining their confidence slowly in this field of science and the results are also immensely improved as the time progresses.
